My name is Dan Hoffman, and Hoffman Missioncrafts is a small
woodworking business in Quincy California. With one grandfather a shoemaker, the other a carpenter, it
seemed like everyone in my family was building things, or doing art projects. I
started woodworking as a kid. With little or no money, I found out I could take
scraps of wood laying around and build things with my fathers tools that I
couldn't afford to buy. I got older and was able to finally set up my own
woodworking shop. For years I've built furniture for home and family, and now I'm
turning it into a business.Living in California
for almost 50 years, I've toured a great deal of California, including the
missions. The aging stone walls and wood reveal how everything was hand crafted
during the era. There is a satisfaction to have a small piece of that in your
own home, in the way of Mission Style furniture.
Some of the other furniture I've built.
